Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) Training Workshop

Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) Training Overview covers the fundamentals of UAF, which is based on the Unified Profile for DoDAF and MODAF™ (UPDM™). The UAF standard is based on the Object Management Group® (OMG®) Unified Modeling Language™ (UML®) 2.0 and the Systems Modeling Language™ (SysML®) standards. The Unified Architecture Framework offers a structured, organized Model of Models (MoM) approach for managing the complexity of systems-of-systems engineering (SoSE) within the organization at different levels of abstraction.

UAF is based on UPDM 3.0 and the UML®/SysML® in military communities. Value propositions are to develop standardized and consistent enterprise architectures based on the U.S. Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and the UK Ministry of Defense Architecture Framework (MODAF). UAF requirements are derived from DoDAF 2.02 and MoDAF military frameworks as well as the NAF (NATO Architecture Framework). UAF architecture models provide a means to develop an understanding of complex systems and the relationships among organizations, systems, and systems-of-systems, and to analyze these systems to ensure they meet the expectations of the user community.
