COURSE OVERVIEW

Design for EMC/SI (Electromagnetic Compatibility & Signal Integrity) is our flagship EMC design class. It addresses the control of EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) at the box level through proven design techniques. Electromagnetic Compatibility Design and Signal Integrity Training provide a comprehensive treatment of EMC/SI “inside the box.” This includes digital and analog circuits, printed circuit board design, power electronics, I/O treatments, mechanical shielding, and more. Please note – this Electromagnetic Compatibility Design and Signal Integrity Training class does NOT address “outside the box” issues such as cable design, power wiring, and other systems-level concerns. Day 3 discusses EMI Troubleshooting Guidelines with case studies. Each student will receive a copy of the EDN Magazine Designer’s Guide to EMC by Daryl Gerke and William Kimmel, along with a complete set of lecture notes.
