RT Validation Testing Services

Experience is the key!

We provide independent, Air Force-approved RT Validation Testing Services for remote terminals designed for MIL-STD-1553. Remote terminals are tested to the “RT Validation Test Plan,” Appendix A to MIL-HDBK-1553. Testing service is conveniently provided at your facility or in Phoenix.

We made a major contribution to the development of the RT VALIDATION TEST PLAN. Our years of testing experience and familiarity with the Test Plan enable us to provide assistance in interpreting test results and troubleshooting problems. Our test procedure effectively implements the Test Plan and a comprehensive test report documents the test results.

How long does it take?

RT Validation Testing Services of a dual standby redundant remote terminal is expected to take approximately 8 to 12 hours provided no problems are encountered. Testing time could be reduced if testing is terminated early or extended if troubleshooting is done during testing.

RT Validation Testing Services – Test Equipment:

Experience is the key! In response to the increased need for quality test equipment for use in the development and testing of MIL-STD-1553 terminals and systems, ENO Institute, has produced a line of equipment that is the most practical, efficient, and cost-effective in the market today. We want to use our two decades of 1553 experience to help you successfully implement and test your terminals and systems.

1553 PCI Card: The 1553 PCI Card provides an intelligent interface between up to four (4) MIL-STD-1553 channels and a PCI slot in a PC-compatible computer. Each channel is dual standby redundant and can operate as a Bus Controller (BC), Remote Terminal (RT), Bus Monitor (BM), or Remote Terminal/Bus Monitor (RT/M). This allows it to be used in developing, testing, and simulating the MIL-STD-1553 bus functions from a personal computer. Software is included with the card.

  • 128K words memory per channel
  • MIL-STD-1553 A, B, & Notice II
  • Operates as BC, RT, BM, or RT/M
  • Flexible interrupts or polling

1553 PC104 Card: The 1553 PC104 Card provides an intelligent interface between the MIL-STD-1553 data bus and a PC/104 computer. It can operate as a Bus Controller (BC), Remote Terminal (RT), Bus Monitor (BM), or Remote Terminal/Bus Monitor (RT/M). This allows it to be used in developing, testing, and simulating the MIL-STD-1553 bus functions from a PC/104 computer. Software is included with the card.

  • MIL-STD-1553 A, B, and Notice II
  • Uses SuMMIT from UTMC
  • Operates as BC, RT, BM, or RT/M
  • I/O mapped memory: 128K words
  • Flexible interrupts or polling

1553 PCMCIA Card: The 1553 PCMCIA Card provides an intelligent interface between a PC-compatible computer and the MIL-STD-1553 data bus. It can operate as a Bus Controller (BC), Remote Terminal (RT), Bus Monitor (BM), or Remote Terminal/Bus Monitor (RT/M). This allows it to be used in developing, testing, and simulating the MIL-STD-1553 bus functions from a personal computer. Software is included with the card. The 1553 PCMCIA Card is supplied with a cable assembly with the data bus cables terminated in Trompeter PL75 connectors

  • PCMCIA Type II
  • MIL-STD-1553 A, B, and Notice II
  • Uses SuMMIT from UTMC
  • Operates as BC, RT, BM, or RT/M
  • Minimal host overhead
  • I/O mapped memory: 128K words
  • Flexible interrupts or polling

1553 INTERFACE CARD: The 1553 INTERFACE CARD is a 1/2 size ISA card, which provides an intelligent interface between a PC/AT compatible computer and the MIL-STD-1553 data bus. Built around the UTMC SuMMIT chip, it provides comprehensive MIL-STD-1553A/B dual redundant bus operation as a Bus Controller, Remote Terminal, and Monitor Terminal. Easy-to-use software is provided to control up to six cards. A test program is included (source code and object code) to aid the user in verifying operation and writing application-specific software. A Windows DLL is available.

  • Meets MIL-STD-1553 A, B, and Notice II
  • PC/AT ½ size board
  • 8K, 16K, 32K, or 64K words of memory

1553 BUS TESTER: The 1553 BUS TESTER is a versatile test instrument that provides the user with the capability to do thorough MIL-STD-1553 testing, including complete error injection and detection. The Bus Tester is ideal for use in development, validation, and production testing. The Modular design provides easy migration from the basic model to the full-featured model.

  • High-speed parallel interface to the host processor
  • The internal random data generator
  • Simulate a Bus Controller, up to 32 Remote Terminals, and a Bus Monitor.

PC/AT PARALLEL I/O CARD & CABLE with SOFTWARE

The PC/AT PARALLEL I/O CARD & CABLE with SOFTWARE is a hardware/software package for use in a PC-compatible computer to control the 1553 BUS TESTER. The package consists of the PC/AT PARALLEL I/O CARD (a full-length ISA card) which plugs into the computer, a cable to connect this card to the 1553 BUS TESTER, and control software. The control software is the BUS TESTER CONTROL PROGRAM and the DOS Support Library.

1553 NOISE GENERATOR CARD: The PC compatible 1553 NOISE GENERATOR CARD provides band-limited white Gaussian noise used in determining the noise rejection performance in accordance with MIL-STD-1553. The card is provided with menu-driven software for measuring and controlling the noise output. It is designed to be used for design testing as well as validation and production testing of 1553 terminals.

  • Noise bandwidth – 1 kHz to 4MHz
  • Output voltage – 80mV to 297.5mV (rms) in 0.5mV steps
  • Transformer or direct coupling
